The third “Fukagawa conversation”

LVC held the third “Fukagawa Conversation”, on Wednesday April 6th, 2016.

Eleven people joined this time, including one from Fukagawa Shopping District Association and one local resident.

We practiced role-play to be able to conduct a moderate conversation when we meet people from overseas.

As we LVC members are enthusiastic to learn foreign languages, we started to become interested in languages apart from English. Finally, this role play became a trigger to start to talk and learn various Japanese dialects, such as Tohoku dialect, Kansai dialect, Yamanote dialect and Edo dialect.

“Hang on! These are not foreign languages…”  By the way, after the role play, “Y” showed us an exciting English game which she showed at the April General Meeting. This game was not only a lot of fun but also great for learning how to count different types of items.

This time 11 people played this game together. It was hardest for “The last person” because he or she needs to remember many lines. Thinking about whether to sit on the leader, Ms. Y’s, right or left was a turning point in deciding who would have any easy or difficult time. . If you are curious about what the game is, please join our Fukagawa Conversation and enjoy the experience of being “the last person”.

The next Fukagawa Conversations will be held on April 20th (Wed.) and April 24th (Sun.) 2016 from 14:00 to 16:00.
