Musashino University summer foreign students 2016 Japanese culture experience

This year’s Musashino Japan Summer Program (MJSP) welcomed forty-five summer exchange students from universities in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea.

LVC guided the students in a four-day program (July 13, 20, 22, and 25) focused on Japanese cultural experience that was organized at the request of the University. The students especially enjoyed the experience in the Kiyosumi-Shirakawa area, including a walking tour in yukata costume in the townscape from the Edo period re-created in the Fukagawa Edo Museum, and a stroll in the Kiyosumi Garden, followed by a tea ceremony. In addition, they learned origami craft in a class at the University.

At the farewell party, we received many words of appreciation from the international students for the support by the LVC volunteers (24 participants). The students mentioned the most memorable thing was to walk around the streets wearing yukata.
